Hmmm my first blog.....So here goes nothing!
A little about me
My name is Charity and I own/run Winderlicious Cakes, but my cake creating certainly didn't start there. My first cake was for my oldest son on his first birthday. It definitely wasn't anything to write home about, but I had so much fun and I was proud of my first creation!

I had no real experience with baking or #cakedecorating but I wanted my baby to have a special cake for his first birthday. Being young I couldn't just go out and spend $100+ on his birthday cake so I thought "I'm sure I can figure this out!"
I went out and picked up a cake mix and canned icing. I went home, baked and rudimentarily iced the cake. The design came from one of his coloring books! I knew I could draw cartoon characters fairly well so I thought how hard can it be to translate in icing?! Not nearly as easy as I hoped!
my first #customcakedecorating endeavors I had come to a couple of realizations: first was that I really enjoyed doing it and second... I needed a lot of practice!! I continued making my kids' cakes and then started doing them for other kids in the family. My family became my guinea pigs! I began to get a little better and started using other decorating mediums. Finally after tons of practice over 9 years I decided to open for business in 2011.
